Barbara A. Burelison

Barbara A. Burelison, 90, of Columbia City, Ind., passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024, at home surrounded by family.  Born June 27, 1933, in Fort Wayne, Ind., she was a daughter of the late Lester and Ruth (McCray) Middleton.

She grew up in the Arcola area, attended the Arcola School.  On July 14, 1951, she married Charles E. Burelison at Concordia Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne and lived in Whitley County. Barbara retired from Dana Corp. (Weatherhead) after 30 plus years of service.  Her passion for helping others was recognized, earning her Whitley County's Heart Of Gold Award. She enjoyed fishing, a good joke, cooking for her family, and animals of all kinds.  Barbara and her sisters loved to sit around the piano and sing together.

Barbara is survived by her children, Garry Burelison, Christine (Jerry) Green, Robin (Barry) Hively Tim (Mary) Burelison; eight grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; sisters, Bonnie Muncey, Shirley Radke.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Burelison; daughter, Pamela Burelison-Sparks; granddaughter, Melissa Sparks; sisters, Joan Lussenhop, Norma Brotherton; brothers, Richard Middleton, and Donald Middleton.

A Celebration of Life will be at 12:00 pm, Saturday, February 17, 2024, with calling one hour prior at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Dr., Columbia City.
