James W. Johnson

James W. Johnson, age 84, of Columbia City, IN, passed away at 2:10 pm on Tuesday January 16, 2024, at Canterbury Nursing Home, Fort Wayne.  Born on October 10, 1939, in Chicago, IL, he was the son of Arthur and Roberta (Marvin) Johnson, Sr.

James attended Chicago Public Schools and graduated with the Class of 1957.  He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, then attended Bell & Howell School of Technology.  James was a ship painter in Chicago, IL and in Seattle, WA.

James was a Whitley County resident since 2009 and was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose.

Survivors include his nephew Kenneth Ross of Syracuse and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Arthur Johnson, Jr., Roberta Johnson, and Toni Johnson.

Friends may call on Thursday January 25, 2024, from 10:00-11:00 am at DeMoney Grimes Funeral Home 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.

Burial in South Park Annex Cemetery, Columbia City
