Joyce Elaine Treesh

Joyce Elaine Treesh, 87, of Columbia City, Ind., went to her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Miller's at Oak Pointe. Born October 22, 1936, in Fort Wayne, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Albert and Eva (Ausderan) Pliett.

She attended South Side High School, Fort Wayne. On April 12, 1958, she married Richard Treesh who was her lifelong love until his passing in April 2022. Joyce was a waitress all her life. She retired from Richard's Restaurant when she was 62 years old.

She and Richard became snowbirds settling in Sebring, Florida. Joyce and Richard loved doing things together. They took dancing lessons, they bowled, golfed, and enjoyed archery. She loved to sew and embroider, spend time at the lake with her family and was known to cheat at card games if you did not watch her close enough! Joyce was a people person.

She never met a stranger who remained a stranger for long. If anyone admired her outfit or jewelry it was not unlike her to try and give it to them.

Joyce is survived by her daughters, Debrah A. (Peggy Rebman) Treesh, and Judith L. Treesh; brother, Jerry (Jeanine) Pliett; and sisters, Donna (John Sr.) Wilson, Rosanna "Rosie" (Sam) Littlejohn.

Visitation will be 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Sunday, November 26, 2023, at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday, November 27, 2023, with calling one hour prior, also at the funeral home.

Joyce struggled with Alzheimer's Dementia for many years so in memory of Joyce donations may be given to Alzheimer's Association Greater Indiana.
