Tod Allen Heisler, 57, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at his home with family by his side. Born July 14, 1966, in Bremen, IN, he was the son of Teddy Ray Heisler and Sally K. (Pershing) Heisler.
At the age of six, Tod's family relocated from Warsaw, IN, to Etna Green, IN. He was a graduate of Triton High School, Class of 1984. After high school, he went on to attend Manchester College. On September 5, 1987, he married Lynette Walsh and the two resided in the Warsaw area for the next 10 years, where Tod built his property and casualty insurance business with Farm Bureau Insurance. In 1997, the Heisler's relocated to Peru, IN, where they spent the next 10 years raising their 3 children and navigating various career changes. In 2007, the Heisler's relocated once more to their current home in Fort Wayne, IN, where Tod started his financial planning practice with Edward Jones. He would spend the next 15 years serving his clients out of his Time Corner's office before transitioning his practice to Raymond James in the summer of 2022. Outside of his professional calling, Tod had a strong Christian faith that defined who he was and how he treated people. He loved being with his family, spending time in the woods, and being at their beautiful lake cottage in Brown County.
Tod is survived by his loving wife, Lynette Heisler; son and daughter-in-law, Clint and Britney Heisler; son, Caleb Heisler; daughter and son-in-law, Kylee and Luke Anspach; granddaughters, Mila and Capri Heisler; mother, Sally Kay Heisler; brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Kim Heisler; and sister, Tracy Slimak. He was preceded in death by his father, Ted Heisler on April 7, 2021.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 6:45 pm, Friday, December 29, 2023, at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, with a funeral service to begin at 7:00 pm. Burial will take place Saturday at 11:00 am, at Etna Green East Cemetery, 332 E. High Street, Etna Green. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in memory to The Mighty Acorn Foundation where Tod and Lynette have been serving and volunteering for several years.
