Alex James Trabert, age 23, passed away at approximately 5:30 a.m. Saturday, November 24, 2012 at the scene of an accident in Indianapolis, IN. Born March 24, 1989, in Columbia City, IN, Alex had been residing in Franklin for the past year.

He joins his grandmother, RuthAnn (Mourey) Coonrod, in watching over his family and friends.
A lifetime Washington Township resident, he graduated from Columbia City High School in 2007. An avid BMX bike rider and artist, Alex had a great sense of humor and never seemed to know a stranger. He never turned down a request for help from a friend. Alex worked for Numerix Tooling and several jobs for Elwood Staffing. He was a ten year member of the Whitley County 4-H program and a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Columbia City.
