Alice M. Harber, age 91, of Yoder, IN passed away at 5:40 am on Sunday April 30, 2017, at Kingston Care Center, Fort Wayne. Born on March 25, 1926 in Wells County, IN, she was the daughter of George and Anna (Schuler) Christman.
Alice attended local schools and for the majority of her life was a homemaker. She also worked at Kresge and Phelps Dodge in the cafeteria, St. Aloysius as a school secretary, and sold Avon.
She was a lifetime member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Yoder and on June 29, 1946, Alice married Jacob J. Harber there.
Alice enjoyed spending time with family, tending to her flowers, gardening, sewing, cooking, ceramics, and playing a good game of cards. In addition, she also volunteered her time at St. Aloysius.
Survivors include her daughter Lois Prezbindowski of Yoder and son Tony (Jennifer) Harber of Fort Wayne; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother Charles Christman of Fort Wayne.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jacob of 69 years in 2015, daughter Linda Pera, brothers Edwin and Paul Christman, and sister Agnes Miller.
A Mass of Christian Resurrection will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Yoder at 11:00 am, with calling one hour prior and reciting of the rosary immediately preceding mass.
Burial will follow in St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery, Yoder.
Memorial contributions in memory of Alice may be made to Masses at St. Aloysius Catholic Church.
