Amanda Fawn Jackson, age 33, of Columbia City, IN, passed away suddenly at 11:41 a.m. on Thursday June 18, 2015 at her residence.Born on October 23, 1981, in Fort Wayne, IN, she was the daughter of Steven and Malana (Harrison) Alvey.
Amanda was a lifetime Whitley County resident.She attended Columbia City High School and graduated with the Class of 2000.She also attended IPFW in Fort Wayne, where she took early childhood courses. Amanda was a homemaker, and on July 14, 2007, she married David Jackson in Columbia City. Amanda loved children, doing crafts with them, and babysitting for anyone.She was very proud to have recently become a foster parent, helping children in need.
Survivors include her loving husband David Jackson of Columbia City; father Steven (Rita Ebert) Alvey of Fort Wayne; brother Cory (Kara) Alvey of Pierceton; grandmother Arloa Alvey of Columbia City; step-sister Brandy Schnelker of Fort Wayne; a niece and nephew; and several aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her mother Malana Alvey, paternal grandfather Donald Alvey, and maternal grandparents Cec and Midge Harrison.
A memorial service for Amanda will be held on Thursday July 2, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, with memorial visitation from 4:00 until the time of service at 6:00p.m. Memorial contributions in memory of Amanda may be made to her final expense account or Riley Childrens Foundation.
