Barbara L. Wood

Barbara L. Wood, 88, of Columbia City, Indiana passed away Saturday, June 29, 2024, at her home. Born June 7, 1936, in Huntertown, Indiana she was a daughter of the late William and Anna (Riecke) Maloney. 

She graduated from Huntertown High School with the Class of 1954. In November of 1991, she married Robert Wood at St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church. Barbara worked for over 25 years at Whiteleather Law Office. She was a member of St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church and volunteered in the church food pantry.

Barbara was an avid baker and loved to make baked goods for her family and friends. She was devoted to her family, with her grandchildren and great grandchildren being her pride and joy.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Robert "Bob" Wood; children, Janie (Gary) Copeland, David (Lana) Lowe, Tim (Julie) Lowe; daughter-in-law, Melinda Lowe; seven grandchildren, Amanda (Hector) Hernandez, Brad (Trish) Lowe, Anna (Grant) McCandless, John (Emily) Lowe, Carmen Lowe, Carly Lowe, Andrew Lowe; and nine great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her son, Andrew Lowe; four sisters; and two brothers. 

Visitation will be from 2:00 - 7:00 pm on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, with a Rosary recited at 1:30 pm at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Wednesday, July 3, 2024, with calling one hour prior, at St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, 315 S. Line St, Columbia City. Burial will follow at St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given in her memory to St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church.
