March 28, 1963 — August 22, 2009

Bart A. West, age 46, of Columbia City, died Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 7:34 p.m. at Parkview Hospital Fort Wayne due to complications from a stroke. Born March 28, 1963 at Camp Lejeune, NC, he was the son of Henry William and Daisy M. "Bunny" (Irwin) West.Raised in Muncie, IN he attended Muncie Central High School. In 1986 he moved to Fort Wayne, IN and lived settling in Columbia City in 2002. He was employed with Creative Sign Resources in Fort Wayne as a shop supervisor. He was an avid bowler and Nascar Fan.Survivors include his daughter, Nicole West and son, Jeremy West of Columbia City; mother, Bunny (Larry) Farotto of Tavares, FL; brother, Scott (Trudie) West of Fort Wayne, IN; sister, Kimberly Davis of Muncie, IN; and former wife, Sheila West-Wilhelm of Columbia City; aunt, Sue Collins of Plymouth, IN as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry W. West and grandparents.Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, IN. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at the funeral home with Pastor John Cummings of Community Bible Church officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memory Cemetery in Muncie at 2 p.m. At the request of the family, those in attendance are asked to dress casual. Memorials may be given in memory of Mr. West to the West Children's Education Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
