BESSIE LEA MOCK, age 99, formerly of Winona Lake and North Webster, IN died at noon, Thursday, Nov 1, 2007 at Millers Merry Manor, Syracuse, IN where she had resided for the past 3 years. Born on March 17, 1908 in rural Kentucky, she was the daughter of George W. and Laura (Kenard) Burgett.
In 1928, she married Walter Dishman who passed away in 1933. Her second marriage was to John E. Mock in 1945 and he died in 1947. She retired from Flexous Company, Winona Lake, IN in 1972. In 1960, she moved to Winona Lake from North Webster, IN. Her church membership included Fellowship Baptist Church, Warsaw, IN.
Survivors include a daughter, Delores Vanator of North Webster; 8 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and spouses, she was preceded in death by 2 sons, Richard Allen and Charles Robert Dishman, 2 brothers, John Eldon and Fred Burgett and 2 sisters, Peggy Riley and Effie Vanator.
Visitation is 3-7 p.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral service is 3 p.m. Sunday, November 4, 2007 at the funeral home with Pastor Penny Mosher, Pastor of Congregational Care at First Church of God, officiating. Burial will follow at North Webster Cemetery, North Webster, IN. Memorial bequests may be given in Mrs. Mocks memory to the donors choice of charity. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
