Bobby Ray Turner, age 67, of Oklahoma City, OK passed away at 7:40 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Warr Acres, Oklahoma City, OK.Born on April 30, 1945 in Wolf Lake, IN, he was the son of Robert Turner and Mildred Elizabeth(Fletcher) Turner.
He graduated from Wolf Lake High School with the Class of 1963 and served in the United States Army from 1963-1966.After moving away from Columbia City he lived in Georgia and Oklahoma. He was a diesel mechanic in Georgia and Oklahoma for over 40 years.He was a member of Church of Christ and Veterans of Foreign War.
Survivors include his daughter, Lisa Ann (Joel) Whitfield of Athens, GA; son, John Scott Turner of Oklahoma City, OK; sisters , Danna (Jerome) Wellman of Churubusco, Connie L. Rathke of Columbia City, Judy (Lewis) Mullins of Columbia City and Kay (Paul) Deem of Columbia City; brother, Terry Turner of Oklahoma City, OK; and grandson, Daine Turner.He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2013 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.Funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Friday, April 5, 2013 at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home with Neal Noey of Lincolnway Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow at Wolf Lake Cemetery.Memorials may be given in memory of Mr. Turner to the American Cancer Society.
