Bonnie Marie Davis

July 28, 1963 — November 26, 2024

Columbia City

Bonnie Marie Davis, 61, of Columbia City, Indiana passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at home surrounded by family and dear friends. After a 28-month fight with cancer she went home to be with her Lord and Savior. Born July 28, 1963, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, she was a daughter of Leonard McKinney and the late Helen (Beuker) McKinney.

She graduated from Columbia City Joint High School with the Class of 1981. Bonnie was a homemaker until her children finished school. She then went to work as a driver for O'Daniel Automotive Group.

Bonnie was a life-long member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church of Arcola. She was instrumental in getting the new church and Father's house built. She touched the lives of many children over the years teaching Religious Education and teaching them crafts for their Vacation Bible School in the summer. She also offered craft lessons for adults at St. Patrick's. Bonnie welcomed new members to her church with open arms. She was a prayer warrior for all. She wanted everyone to know and love Jesus, Mary and Joseph.

Bonnie worked for ten years assisting with dinner and auctions at the church to raise funds for the Honor Flight of Northeast Indiana. She also fought hard for the ProLife cause and was an active member of the Right to Life Northeast Indiana Chapter.

Bonnie didn't need words, her smile said it all! She was a kind and giving soul. Her family was everything to her. She was always supportive of her children and granddaughters’ activities. Whether it was sports, school programs, or musical theater she would always be there. She will be truly missed by all that knew her.

In addition to her father, Bonnie is survived by her loving husband of over 40 years, Tom Davis; children, Jessica Davis, John Davis, Jason Davis, and Sophie Hammel; granddaughter, Ziyah May Davis Best; siblings, Colleen Brown, Diana Shoemaker, Jeanette (Mike) Wise, Elizabeth (Keith) Stelljes, Trudy (Lenny) White, Dan (Laura) McKinney, Ed (Rhonda) McKinney, and Brad (Kara) McKinney. Bonnie was preceded in death by her brother, Gary McKinney; and nephew, Austin McKinney.
