Bonnie L. Wolfe, 82, of Churubusco, Ind. passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Born on July 14, 1931 in Bloomington, Ill., she was the daughter of Arvil "Doc" and Goldie Mae (Snare) Laymon.
She was a graduate of Andrews High School. On November 17, 1976 she married Verlin "Bud" Wolfe. She worked at General Electric, Alfran Nursing Home and the Oaks, Churubusco High School in 1976 and she was a devoted housewife. She enjoyed traveling, camping, cooking and baking.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Verlin Bud Wolfe; daughter, Brenda Smith of Bremerton, Wash.; step-daughters, Nila (Randy) Reimer of Columbia City and Carol (Jerry) Everly of Stem, N.C. ; step-son, Allen Wolfe of Suffolk, Va.; sister, Helen Merryman of Huntington; grandchildren, Jesse Martin, Sarah Mayer, Jeffrey (Angie) Reimer, Angie (Mike) Torres, Melissa (Eric) Thrasher, Jerod (April) Wolfe, Wesley Everly, Joshua (Leslie) Wolfe and Shelly (Travis) Sommerlott; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Georgia Hensel and Norma Myers; and brother, Arvil Laymon.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral service will be on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Wolf Lake Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be given in Mrs. Wolfe's memory to American Diabetes Association.
