Calvin Ritschard

Calvin D. Ritschard, age 73, of Columbia City, IN, passed away at 8:40 am on Saturday July 17, 2021, at his residence.  Born on July 11, 1948, in Monroe, WI, he was the son of Delbert and Darlyne (Boeck) Ritschard.

Calvin grew up on a farm in rural Argyle, WI, and attended local schools.  He graduated from Argyle High School with the Class of 1966.  Calvin then proudly served his country in the United States Navy.

On August 2, 1980, Calvin married Cheryl Babler in Afton, WI.  He worked for General Motors as a Final Process Repairman for 34 years, between Janesville and Fort Wayne, until his retirement.  Calvin enjoyed camping, cooking, spending time with family, along with his horses and dogs. He was a friend to all and always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Calvin was also known to fit in an occasional fishing trip when he could.

Survivors include his wife Cheryl Ritschard of Columbia City; children Troy (Teri) Ritschard of Roanoke and Santana Ritschard of Columbia City; grandchildren Josh, Alex, Chance, Taylor, and Chelsey; great-grandchildren Isabelle, Liam, Matthew, and Levi; siblings Dean (Jackie) Ritschard of Monroe, WI, Scott (Tammy) Ritschard, Lorna Mick, and Keith (Tina) Ritschard, all of Argyle, WI, and Ann (Jerry) Thompson of Dodgeville, WI; mother-in-law Mary (Dennis Peterson) Babler of Rockdale, WI; sister-in-law Debi (Jack) Twyford of Evansville, WI; brothers-in-law Terry Babler and Duane Babler, both of Evansville, WI, Keith (Debbie) Babler and Tony (Barb Smith) Babler, both of Columbia City; several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, son Calvin Ritschard Jr., brother Tom Ritschard, and brother-in-law Dan Mick.

In accordance with the wishes of Calvin, a Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements by DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.

Memorial contributions in memory of Calvin may be made to his final expenses.
