Carleen A. DeLeon, 79, of Fort Wayne, IN passed away at 11 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2014 at Life Care Nursing Home. Born on March 28, 1935 in Wolf Lake, she was the daughter of William M. Winebrenner and H. Jayne (Babb) Luther.
She has lived in the Fort Wayne area for 60 years.She graduated from Columbia City High School with the Class of 1953. On November 24, 1965 she married Jerry. She worked at various places including Lincoln Life for three years, Central Soya for five years, Magnavox for seven years, Fort Wayne Community Schools for 14 years and at K-Marts Glenbrook Store for 14 years. She attended Grace St. Johns United Church of Christ and Bethel United Methodist. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile and Jobs Daughters International.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Jerry DeLeon; son, Jeff DeLeon of Fort Wayne; daughter, Andrea Andi DeLeon of Granger; grandchildren, Timathy (Carrie), Sierra and Kristen Dunn. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2014 at Bethel United Methodist Church, 8405 Lima Rd, Ft. Wayne with a gathering one hour prior to service.
Arrangements with DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, IN.Burial at Highland Park Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be given in Mrs. DeLeon's memory to Alzheimer's Association or Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home.
