Carmie Haneline, age 84, of Columbia City, IN passed away at 6:06 p.m. Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City. Born November 26, 1927 in Richlands, VA, she was the daughter of Alonzo and Amie Lee (Allen) Hilton.
She lived in Virginia, until 1962. She lived at Wabash, Andrews and Huntington prior to moving to Columbia City in 2002 where she lived at the Clugston Hotel for 6 years and Parkview Oaks for the past 4 years. She was a former detective in Georgia, and she worked as a factory worker at Seamco, South Whitley, and Preferred Tech, Andrews. She attended Eagle Quest Church, Columbia City. Carmie was an avid bingo and card player and loved to cook for her family.
Survivors include her 1 daughter, L. Sue (Ben) Metzger of Columbia City; 2 sons, James D. Ramey of Bryan, OH and Rob (Tammy) Ramey of Columbia City; 4 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.She is preceded in death by her parents, great great grandchild, Carson Nolan, and 2 sisters, Georgia Lee Potts and Mazie Copeland.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 23, 2012 from 11-1:00 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City with funeral services immediately following at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
