Carol A. Terman

Carol A. Terman, age 78 of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away at 6:36 am on Friday March 31, 2023, in Fort Wayne.  Born on August 31, 1944, in Allen County, she was the daughter of Earl and Mary (Buchanan) Smith.

Carol attended Elmhurst High School and graduated with the Class of 1962.  On April 12, 1975, she married Don E. Terman in Columbia City.

Carol worked as a legal secretary and payroll clerk for Magnavox/Raytheon for 29 years until her retirement in 2003.  She was a member of St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.  Carol enjoyed Indiana basketball, gardening, reading, and traveling.  She was an exceptional cook and loved trying new recipes.  Her greatest passion was her family, and she was truly loved by everyone.  She was a wonderful grandmother and her grandchildren brought her so much joy.

Survivors include her husband Don Terman of Fort Wayne; daughters Treasa Roe (Peter) Sideris of Columbia City, Christine Roe (Daniel) Murphy of Pewaukee, WI, Debra Roe Perry of Fort Wayne, Donna (Bill Brown) Terman of Menlo Park, CA, Valerie (Raimundo Nilton Silva) Terman of Indianapolis, Barbara Terman (Dave) Gardner of Salt Lake City, UT, and Jill Terman (Richard) Potter of Hanover, NH; grandchildren Alexandra (Andrew) Solomon, Katherine Sideris, Ryan Murphy, Colin Murphy, Dillon Murphy, Payton Fiedler, Hailey Woodward, Russell (Haley) Brown, Rachel Sky Brown, Travis (Therry) Kliever, and Daniel Kliever; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings Kathie Smith Crabill and Jim Smith, both of Fort Wayne; nephews Jeffrey Crabill, Joseph Crabill, and Matthew Crabill; 2 grandnieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather Richard Olson.

Friends may call on Monday April 10, 2023, from 4:00-7:00 pm at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Carol will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday April 11, 2023, at St. Paul Of the Cross Catholic Church, 315 South Line Street, Columbia City, with calling one hour prior.

Memorial contributions in memory of Carol may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital or to Stillwater Hospice.
