Carolyn Sue Behm

Carolyn Sue Behm, age 85, of Ligonier, IN, passed away at 8:15 am on Tuesday March 15, 2022, surrounded by her family.  Born on April 16, 1936, in Muncie, IN, she was the daughter of Vent and Dorothy (Stephens) Farmer.

Carolyn attended Muncie Central High School and graduated with the Class of 1953.  On July 17, 1955, she married Edward Behm in the Lutheran Church, Muncie, IN.  Carolyn was a homemaker and also worked at Goss Grocery, Big Lake, IN, for 10 years.  She lived at Big Lake for 28 years before moving to Bear Lake in 1997, and most recently, she lived in Ligonier.

Carolyn was a past member of the Lutheran Church in Muncie.  She enjoyed gardening and spending time with all of her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children Cathy Smith of South Bend, Jennifer (Steve) Weigold of Ligonier, David (Polly) Behm and Dan (Joanne) Behm both of Columbia City, and Dennis (Kelly) Behm of Albion; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; sister Patty Neal of Dearborn, MI; stepsiblings John (Janice) Farmer, Jim (Eva) Farmer, Rusty Farmer, and Brenda Farmer, all of Union City, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward Behm, sister Betty Hart, and daughter-in-law Karen Behm.

Friends may call on Saturday March 19, 2022, from 12:00-2:00 pm at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.

Funeral services for Carolyn will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday March 19, 2022, at the funeral home.

Private family burial in Thorn Cemetery, Ormas.
