Charlotte Julia Wyman

October 22, 1924 — May 24, 2017

Charlotte Julia Wyman, 92, of Columbia City, passed away at 4:15 am Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Millers at Oak Pointe. Born October 22, 1924 in Windham, Vt., she was the daughter of George J. and Katherine A. (Short) Maloney.

Charlotte spent her childhood and early married life in New Hampshire. She graduated Claremont High School with the Class of 1942. On August 27, 1943 she married Maynard Wyman in Claremont. Inthe late 1940s she moved from Claremont to New Carlisle, Ind. and then to Columbia City in the 1950s. Charlotte retired in 1989 as a Meter Maid for the city of Columbia City and worked for the next two years at Magnavox Security. She had been an aqua aerobics instructor at the Burnworth Pool and the YMCA. She had been a member of the Grace Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her daughters, Jean C. Miller, of Seattle, Wash. and Mary (Richard) King, of Columbia City; granddaughters, Charlotte Jordon and Debby Petitt, Karen Woloskin; six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Robert LeClair; and great-grandson, Andrew Bowman.

Visitation is 10-11 a.m. Friday, May 26, 2017 at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City with her funeral service to follow. Rev. Matthew Converse will be officiating. Burial to follow at Covington Memorial Gardens. Memorial gifts may be given in her memory to Make a Wish Foundation.
