Clarence E. "Jiggs" Lehman, 83, of Larwill, Ind., died at home, Sunday, February 1, 2015. Born February 9, 1931 in Whitley County, Ind., he was the son of George D. Lehman and Maude M.(Helblig) Lehman.
He attended Columbia City High School. On May 26, 1956, Jiggs was united in marriage to Carol D. Mettler. They made their home in Whitley County, moving to Larwill in 1972. For a period of time, he was with the Allen County Sheriffs Mounted Posse, patrolling on horses. For nearly 40 years, Jiggs worked at Weatherhead Dana in Columbia City. After retiring he sold trailers for Floyd Diffendaffer for over 10 years. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, attending in Ligonier.
Survivors include his daughter, Sharon (Bill) Albert of Warren, OH; son, Dale Lehman of Larwill; sister, Rosalie Young of Peru; grandchildren, Keiley (Bob) Maggert of Columbia City, Brittiany and Mark Sheets, both of Warren, OH; great-grandchildren, Nikolas and David Malott and JayQwon and Jayden Crenshaw; and great-grandpuppies, Bandit, Bear, Lady and Ace. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, George Lehman, Jr.; his loving wife, Carol Lehman; and a great-grandson, Javarie Crenshaw.
A private burial will take place at Christian Chapel Cemetery in Merriam. Memorial gifts may be given in his memory to his son, Dale Lehman. Arrangements with DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Dr., Columbia City.
