Dale E. Banker Jr.

May 11, 1960 — August 29, 2020

Dale Eugene Banker, Jr., 60, of Columbia City, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Parkview Hospital. Born May 11, 1960 in Columbia City, he was the son of Dale Sr. and Ruth (Lucas) Banker.

He graduated from Columbia City Joint High School with the Class of 1978 and attended technical training in being a machinist. Dale had been a welder and CNC operator and worked at Moss Engineering, Kilgore Manufacturing and Central Indiana Hardware over the years. In 2000, Dale married Alice (Pfister) Evans in Evansville. He was a member of the Columbia City Elks Lodge 1417, Eagles and Moose. He enjoyed fishing, shooting guns and pool, photography and was a ham operator known to may as "N9MHD".

Dale is survived by his son, Andy (Stephanie) Banker; daughters, Darci Banker Truman, Daughter and Haley Banker; mother, Gloria Joan Banker; grandson, Braxton Truman; granddaughter, Dylan Truman and former wife, Cindy Semler. He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Banker, Sr.; mother, Ruth Banker; wife, Alice Banker in 2002; and sister, Cindy Voirol.

A gathering of family and friends will be 5 to 6:45 p.m. Thursday, September 3, 2020 at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. With the current Executive Order, face masks are required for attendance. His funeral services will begin at 7 p.m. With limited seating, the funeral service may also be watched live on Facebook through DeMoney Grimes Live .
