Dan Lee Gordon, age 55, of Columbia City passed away peacefully at his home at 3:53 p.m. on Tuesday, March 16, 2010. Born March 25, 1954 in Columbia City, he was the son of Norman Dale and Margie Alice (Gaerte) Gordon.He graduated from Columbia City Joint High School with the Class of 1972 and lived his entire lifetime in Whitley County, except for 10 years at Chapman Lake, rural Warsaw. He married Tamra Jo Kneller on October 26, 2008 at The Chapel, Fort Wayne. He first worked for Toby Krider's Lawn Service and then WA Jones, both of Columbia City, Dana, Fort Wayne, Essex, Columbia City, Food Marketing, Fort Wayne, Boyd Machine, Wolf Lake and for the past 20 years as a CNC machinist for DePuy, Warsaw. He was a member of The Chapel, N.R.A., A.B.A.T.E. and H.O.G.Survivors include his wife, Tamra Jo Gordon of Columbia City; 2 daughters, Christina D. (William) Jeffers of Columbia City; Jodi Williams of Murfreesboro, TN; 3 grandchildren, Danielle, Haley and Amanda; parents, Norman D. and Margie A. Gordon; sister, Debbie D. (Wayne) Kreiger and brothers, Randy Joe (Julie) Gordon and Benny Bruce (Robin) Gordon all of Columbia City and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Edward and Mabel Gordon and Grover and Beulah Gaerte.Visitation is from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. with services immediately following calling at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at The Chapel, 2505 West Hamilton Road, Fort Wayne, with Pastors Mark Clough and Gary Endersby of The Chapel officiating. Memorials may be given in memory of Mr. Gordon to the American Cancer Society, Parkview Whitley Hospice or Whitley County Humane Society. Envelopes will be available through the funeral home.
