Daniel K. Chivington, 62, of Albion, Ind., passed away at 10:02 a.m. Thursday, August 22, 2019 at his sister's home. Born June 1, 1957 in Fort Wayne, he was the son of Donald H. and Bernice M. (Counsellor) Chivington.
He graduated from Northside High School with the Class of 1975 and enlisted with the U.S. Marine Corps. Danny had been involved with the Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and had been a YMCA Lifeguard. He worked over 20 years for Viking Engineering & Development based in Findley, Minnesota and Danny was able to travel across the world for his job. Since he was a child, vacationing and spending time in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan was his favorite place to be.
Survivors include his children; grandchildren; sister, Margie (Jerry) Kolkman, of Albion; and brother, Rev. Ken Chivington, of Mission, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Donald Chivington; and his companion, Kimberly Nussbaum in 2014.
A gathering of family and friends will be 11-2 p.m. Monday, August 26, 2019 at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. A private service with military honors being rendered by the U.S. Marine Corps will be held. Memorial donations may be made in Danny's memory to Full Life Ministry Kenya. Visit
