David Lee Bird II, 32, of Columbia City, Ind., passed away unexpectedly Monday afternoon, April 1, 2019 at his home. Born February 8, 1987 in Columbia City at Whitley Memorial Hospital, he was the son of David Lee Bird l and Ann Michelle (Guiff) Jahn.
He graduated Columbia City High School with the Class of 2006 and went on to attend classes in college with the goal of one day being a video game creator and designer. Davie loved playing video games, including Mario and Dragon Ball Z and won a Guitar Hero tournament at the library. He had work at Papa John's Pizza and Arby's in Columbia City.
Davie loved his pups, Buzz and Dingo and taking care of his dogs, Apache, Piglet and his cat Lela. He found relaxation being outdoor and taking walks in the woods, he was a coffee connoisseur and also enjoyed watching horror films, playing pinball.
Survivors include his father, David Lee Bird l; mother, Ann Michelle (Philip) Jahn; grandmother, Darlene Gaff; brothers, Mikkel Bird, Patrick Bird and Joschua Bird; step-brother, Dylan Jahn; step-sister, Simbara Jahn; niece, Raven; and many other extended family members.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 1-2:45 p.m. Monday, April 8, 2019 at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. His funeral services will begin at 3 p.m. with Pastor Carroll McNutt officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made toward his final expenses, I.C.O. DeMoney-Grimes. Visit
