David A. Graves, age 69, of Roanoke, IN passed away at 2:05 p.m. Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, IN. Born November 19, 1942 in Allen County, IN, he was the son of Deloss S. and Donna Belle (Swing) Graves-Gillam.
He graduated from Roanoke High School with the class of 1961. He was a lifetime resident of Roanoke, except for the time he served in the United States Air Force from May, 1961-1965. On September 5, 1964, he married Adelaide Patsy Levesque at St. Andre NB Canada. In September, 1999, he retired from Navistar with 30 years of service between the Fort Wayne, IN, and Springfield, OH, locations. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the American Legion, Roanoke.
Survivors include his wife, Adelaide Patsy Graves of Roanoke; son, Thomas A. (Mary) Graves of Columbia City; daughter, Lisa L. (Brent) Sunderland of Columbia City; and 8 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation is Wednesday, June 6, 2012 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. with vigil at 3:30 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Mass of Christian Burial is Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 10 a.m. with one hour of calling prior to service at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 6th & Main Street, Roanoke. Burial will follow at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be given in memory of Mr. Graves for Masses or Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
