David Joseph Miller

David Joseph Miller, 85, of Fort Wayne, passed away Thursday morning, November 4, 2021 at his home. Born April 19, 1936 in Columbia City, he was the son of Walter and Irma (Jordan) Miller.

He grew up in Whitley County and graduated from Jefferson Center High School with the Class of 1954 and received his MBA through Indiana University. Dave joined the United States Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis. On September 17, 1960, he married Joretta Ann Frazier who he had known as they were in high school together. Dave worked for Lincoln Life for 30 years and retired as an underwriter. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and the Elks.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Joretta Miller; son, Eric David Miller of Colorado; daughter, Erin Miller Hughes of Columbia City, seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sister, Ann Shelper. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Irma  Miller.

Visitation will be 3 to 7 pm, Monday, November 8, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 10700 Aboite Center Rd, Fort Wayne. Mass of Christian burial will be 11 am Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 10700 Aboite Center Rd, Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow at St Catherine's Nix Settlement Cemetery where military rights will be rendered. Memorial donations may be given in memory to Rush-Miller Foundation.
