David Allen Rudd

David Allen Rudd, age 71, of South Whitley, IN, passed away at 12:24 pm on Sunday May 12, 2024, at his residence.  Born on July 9, 1952, in Columbia City, he was the son of Thomas and Lulu (Myers) Rudd.

David attended South Whitley High School and graduated with the Class of 1970.  He then attended Indiana University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree.  Upon his graduation, David then attended Butler School of Pharmacy, where he earned his Doctor of Pharmacy Degree and graduated with Class of 1977.

David worked as a pharmacist at CVS until his retirement.

He enjoyed nature, rides in the country, the ocean, owls, and playing piano.

Survivors include his mother Lulu Rudd of South Whitley; siblings John (Darlene) Rudd, and Jane (Les) Cripe, both of South Whitley, and Cheryl Wright of Winona Lake; several nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog Hermie.

He was preceded in death by his father Thomas Rudd, brother-in-law Donald Wright, niece Mary Beth Wright, and nephew James Cripe.

A private memorial service for David will be held for his family at DeMoney Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.

Memorial contributions in memory of David may be made to Whitley County Humane Society.
