Dawn E. Grunawalt, 56, of Columbia City, Ind., passed away at 9:15 p.m. Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Millers at Oak Pointe. Born May 13, 1959 in Kendallville, she was the daughter of Fred W. and Geraldine (Chapman) Palmer.
On May 24, 2003, Dawn married Darwin Grunawalt in Columbia City. She was a talented artist, a great cook, a skilled quilter, and she loved tending to her flowers. Her grandchildren were her world, and she loved them all deeply.
Survivors include her daughter, Nicki (Josh) Baker of Columbia City; sons, Rick Foreman of Columbia City and Dustin Foreman of Warsaw; sisters, Toni Palmer of Columbia City, Veronica Lynn (Phil) Litherland of Columbia City and Liz (John) Keaveny of Cheyenne, WY; brother, Will (Helena) Palmer of Columbia City; and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City with a celebration of her life starting at 6:30 p.m. Dawn will be laid to rest next to her husband at South Park Cemetery.
