Debbra S. Clark

Debbra S. (Rice) Clark, 68, of Columbia City, Indiana and formerly of Defiance, Ohio, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2023 at Stillwater Hospice in Fort Wayne. Born March 10, 1954 in Napoleon, Ohio, Debby attended school in Napoleon and after her family moved to Archbold, she went on to graduate from Four County Career Center in 1972.

The week after graduation, she married Barry Clark on May 27, 1972. Debby caught Barry's eye one afternoon while on a lunch break at the local A &W stand and lucky for him the rest was history. Since Barry was serving in the Marines she moved with him to Quantico, Virginia.  As their family expanded, they moved back to Ohio. Outside of caring for her four children and husband, Debby also helped with anything needed with their family business, Clark's Automotive Restyling that they started in 1977. Not only was she there to support her husband, she liked the classic muscle cars. She enjoyed going to car shows and while Barry showed off his Corvette, she loved showing her 1969 red Camaro convertible.

Debby also enjoyed traveling and taking trips to Pigeon Forge, cooking, being outside, gardening, canning and was proud of her landscaping. Out of anything, family meant the most to Debby. She was a great mom and a loving grandma. She tried signing up for as many field trips or attending sporting events as she could.  Barry accepted Christ on March 23, 1983 and influenced Debby to accept Christ the following week. They were involved in church and shortly after Debby and Barry accepted Christ it was a ripple effect of others following in their footsteps. Debby enjoyed children’s ministry and spreading the word of God.

Debby was always laughing and smiling. She was loving, strong, always there for her family and would do anything for them. As Debby’s health declined, they moved to Columbia City from Defiance. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Barry Clark; daughter, Faron (Nate) McClain; sons, Shane (Tracy) Clark, Colt (Kerri) Clark and Jordan (Tiera) Clark; grandchildren, Olivia, Seth, Kenzie, Jade, Angie, Nash, Memphis, Maverick, Sawyer, Kye and Paisley; siblings, Kim Miller, Roxanne Barnes and Rob (Karen) Rice; one niece and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her mom and step-father, Lila M. (Briner) and Richards Myers; son-in-law, Justin Hughes; and nephew, Damian Westhoven.

A Celebration of Deb's life lived will be from 1 to 3 pm Sunday, March 12, 2023 at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive Columbia City, Indiana 46725.
