Delores Jean Kreider

Delores Jean Kreider, 83, of Columbia City, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Peabody Memorial Retirement Home in North Manchester. Born May 20, 1938 in Allen County, she was the daughter of Garland Otto and Emogene Pauline (Lesley) Coolman.

She graduated from South Whitley High School with the Class of 1956. On July 15, 1956, she married Richard Kreider. A Whitley County native, Delores moved from South Whitley to Columbia City in 1991 and lived in Arkansas for a brief time. Delores worked at Scott's Restaurant in South Whitley, Whitko High School's cafeteria as a Food Service Manager and retired as a Secretary at Real Estate Equities.

She is survived by her daughters, Melonie Sroufe, Colleen (Greg) Swick, Janolyn Kreider and Lucinda (Tim) Martz; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren with one more on the way. Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Howard Kreider in 2008; son, Richard Alan Kreider in 2011; son-in-law, Michael Sroufe; and granddaughter, Valerie Hull.

A private family service will be held and she will be laid to rest beside her husband at South Whitley Cemetery. Arrangements with DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home.
