Denise M. Beers

Denise M. Beers, age 61, of Columbia City, IN, moved to her eternal home at 12:40 am on Sunday December 24, 2023, in Fort Wayne.  Born on April 18, 1962, in Fort Wayne, IN, she was the daughter of Everette Dean and Joan (Hosler) Grable.

Denise spent most of her childhood in the Fort Wayne area. She graduated from Homestead High School with the Class of 1980. On May 8, 1982, she married David Joseph Beers.  They made a country residence, Columbia City, their home in 1983.

Having given her life to the Lord, she lived her life serving Him in love, faithfulness, and joy in all she did.  Denise worked for Fashion Mine, Phar-Mor, Building Control Systems, Menards, and Master’s Hand BBQ in her working career.  Her most treasured work was as a mother and at-home babysitter, so she could be at home with her daughters.  She also enjoyed baking, scrapbooking, genealogy, loving on her many fur-babies over the years, and listening to oldies, old country ballads, celtic, Christmas, and Christian music.  She attended First Church of God in Columbia City, and often led her small group, Shekinah.

Survivors include her daughters Danielle Beers of Columbia City and Megan (Eli) Herrmann of Fort Wayne; her beloved granddaughter Haley Herrmann; father E. Dean Grable of Leo; sister Deanne (Dr. Ron) Baker of Fort Wayne; father-in-law John Beers of Columbia City; aunt Lois (Hosler) Bowman of Fort Wayne; many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother Joan (Hosler) Grable, husband David J. Beers, and aunts Carol (Hosler) Snyder and Juanita (Grable) Schrader.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday March 9, 2024, at First Church of God 1200 DePoy Drive, Columbia City.

Private burial in Thorn Cemetery, Ormas.

Memorial contributions in memory of Denise may be made to her final expenses in care of DeMoney Grimes.
