Dennis L. Marrs

Dennis L. Marrs, 73, of Columbia City, Indiana, passed away Friday, May 21, 2021 at his home. Born August 6, 1947 in Wolf Lake at Lucky Hospital, he was the second born child of Raymond and RoseMary (Blair) Marrs.

Growing up on Big Lake, Denny learned at a young age how to fish. As a teenager he started working at Goss Grocery Store. After graduating from Wolf Lake High School with the Class of 1965, Denny began working at Dana Weatherhead in Columbia City. With the Vietnam War going on, he would be drafted into the U.S. Army. Following his time in the Army, he would go continue back working at Dana until retiring with 30 years with the company.

Denny was a Noble County resident until the mid 1980's and moved to Whitley County. On November 8, 2008, Denny married Linda Langohr. The two had known each other since they were children and attended school together. Denny found relaxation in fishing and was a member of the Columbia City VFW where he enjoyed cooking for their fish fries.

Survivors include his loving wife, Linda Marrs; children, Michelle "Missy" (Paul) Schuyler, Jenn (Doug) Richman, Julie Gray, Doug (Denise) Marrs, Brian Marrs, Tony (Jodie) Hively, Tami Kreager and Tina (Tony) Stinson; brother, Kenny (Sharon) Marrs; sister, Penny (Terry) Waikel; 19 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of Denny's life will be 6 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2021 at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Dr., Columbia City with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Penny Mosher from Columbia City First Church of God will be officiating his service and military honors will be rendered by Whitley County Korean War Veteran’s Honor Guard.
