Dolores Bradtmiller

Dolores Ann Bradtmiller, 81, of Columbia City, passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Parkview Hospital. Born November 19, 1939 in Bronson, Michigan, she was the oldest daughter of Martin and Frances (Disbro) Wielgos.

She graduated from Bronson High School and moved to Fort Wayne.  She began her work career with WT Grant as she began attending college. She then worked for Navistar Credit Union and for over 25 years, she worked at Magnavox before retiring. Dolores would find love by fate of a drive-in restaurant. While at Gardener's, she and a young man were teasing each other through the car windows and that would be the start of a wonderful life together. On May 13, 1961, she married Carl Edward Bradtmiller at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fort Wayne and would have a family together to include three children, two grandsons and a great-grandson that Dolores was patiently and eagerly awaiting.

Dolores was strong willed, devoted and very caring as she always had other's on her mind and wanted the best for her family. She and Carl went from family camping to traveling the United States in a RV and wintering in the warmth of the south in either Texas or Florida. She found relaxation in reading, knitting, painting and loved her flowers.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Carl Bradtmiller; daughters, Beth Manns and Amy Sadlowski; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Karen Bradtmiller; sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Jerry Schlosser; grandsons, Keith (Rachel Sonam) Bradtmiller and Kirk (Aiwen Lui) Bradtmiller; and her soon to be expected great-grandson, Henry. She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Frances Wielgos; and son-in-law, Jim Sadlowski.

A private service was held and Dolores will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Saint Jude Children's Hospital.
