Donna J. Garver

Donna J. Garver, age 80, of Columbia City, IN, passed away at 6:54 pm on Wednesday September 25, 2024, at The Waters, Columbia City. Born on May 7, 1944, in Huntington, IN, she was the daughter of Donald and Jeanette (Tribolet) Gilliam.

Donna attended North Side High School and graduated with the Class of 1962. She then attended University of St. Francis and IPFW and studied nursing.

Donna worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Joseph Hospital, Fort Wayne and at Miller’s Merry Manor, Columbia City, until her retirement in 2012. She enjoyed volunteering at the Senior Center, Columbia City after her retirement. Donna was a member of St. Matthew’s Community Church, Columbia City. She loved being at the lake and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her son Brian (Tiffany) Woodward of Fremont; granddaughter Tawni Woodward of Fort Wayne; brother Kevin (Jinx) Gilliam of Fort Wayne; nephews Josh Gilliam and Scott (Amy) Gilliam; niece Beth (Duane) Park; several great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jerry Garver, son Jeff Woodward, sister Kathy Mauer, and nephew David Mauer.

Funeral services for Donna will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday October 2, 2024, at DeMoney Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, with calling from 10:00 am-12:00 pm, prior to service.

Burial will follow in IOOF Cemetery, New Haven.
