Duane H. Janssen, Sr., 93, of Columbia City, Indiana and formerly of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away at11:30 pmThursday, January 19, 2017 at Millers at Oak Pointe in Columbia City. Born September 26, 1923 in Willow Lake, SD. He was the son of Eilert and Rose (Meister) Janssen.
He graduated from Mitchell High School in South Dakota and received his Bachelors degree from Marion College (now Indiana Wesleyan University). After serving as a minister with the Wesleyan Church, he was in student recruitment at Oklahoma Wesleyan University, Bartlesville, OK and Southern Wesleyan University, Central (SC). He retired as a fieldman for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
He is survived by his wife, Eunice (Lough) Kincaid; son, Duane (Linda) Janssen, Jr., of Columbia City; daughter, Jean (David) Martinez, of Golden, Co.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years (Ouida), parents; son, Robert Janssen; grandson, Bradley Janssen; and sister, Leola Yarrington.
Services for Duane will be held at Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville, Florida. He will belaid to rest at Brooksville Cemetery. Local arrangements are with DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.Visit
