Edward Allen Dominy, age 51 of South Whitley, IN, passed away at 12:11 pm on Friday August 30, 2024, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, after a courageous battle with Huntington’s Disease. Born on August 7, 1973, in LaGrange, IN, he was the son of Donald and Patti (Briggs) Dominy.
Edward grew up in Noble County and attended Central Noble Junior/Senior High School in Albion. In 1997, he moved to Whitley County and enjoyed country life on the Baker family farm. Edward shared lots of fun and laughter with the Baker and Shively families there. He also got to know and spent quite a bit of time with Mimi Shively, and after five years of courtship, they were married at the Laud Christian Church in 2001. Then in 2004 the couple purchased a home and moved to South Whitley.
Edward enjoyed 20 years of backyard campfires, watching movies, home remodeling, volunteering his time at the South Whitley Food Bank, spending quality time with his wife, including traveling and weekend getaways.
Edward worked for Reelcraft, Columbia City, Biomet, Warsaw, Omco, Pierceton, and most recently at Holmes & Company, LLC, Columbia City, until his illness rendered him unable to work.
Survivors include his loving wife of 23 years, Mimi Dominy of South Whitley and his fur babies Nani, Lilo, Bailey, and Waffles.
He was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Patti Dominy.
A gathering and celebration of life for Edward will be held from 1:00-4:00 pm on Sunday September 15, 2024, at The Press Room Event Center, 113 South State Street, South Whitley, IN.
The family prefers that any memorial contributions in memory of Edward be made to DeMoney Grimes towards his funeral expenses.
