Edward Eugene Weber, age 99, of Columbia City, IN passed away at 12:15 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2012 at his son's home in Kosciuisko County.Born on September 20, 1912 in Larwill, he was the son of Jacob Weber and Ada Solt-Weber-Hamilton.
Following the death of his mother, Edward was reared in Larwill by his aunt and uncle, Albert and Hulda Solt Holycross and has lived most of his adult life in Columbia City. He attended Larwill, Fort Wayne, and Columbia City Schools. On December 17, 1941, he married Inez Elizabeth Smith at Columbia City United Methodist Church.He retired in 1959 after 30 years of service as a trackman in the Maintenance of Way Department of the Fort Wayne Division of the Pennsylvania Railroad.
Survivors include his son, Robert E. (Iris) Weber of Claypool; cousin, Juanita Weber of Fort Wayne: 3 grandchildren, SueAnn Weber of Columbia City; Hannah and Rylan Weber both of Claypool.He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Inez Elizabeth Weber; adopted parents, Albert and Hulda Hoycross, and cousins, Marjory and Don Weber.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 12, 2012 from 4-8 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m.on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at the funeral home with Lavern King of Old German Baptist Brethren Church, Eel River District officiating. Burial will follow at Nolt Cemetery. Memorials may be given in memory of Mr. Weber's to Parkview Home Health Care & Hospice-Huntington Branch.Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
