Elizabeth “Liz” A. (Walker) Muller, 79, of Fort Wayne, passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at her sister’s home in Albion. Born October 27, 1941 at Lucky Hospital in Wolf Lake, she was the daughter of Jack A. and Vivian C. (Haney) Walker.
Liz and her two younger siblings Jack and Susie grew up in Columbia City. She was active in Choir, the Sunshine Society, F.H.A, volunteered in the school library and was the Class Treasurer her senior year. She went on to graduate from the first graduating class of Columbia City Joint High School with the Class of 1959. She was a co-owner of Walker’s Confectionary and went on to work with customer service for Skelgas and National Serv-All.
On June 6, 1986, she married Henry Thomas Muller Jr. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church and tutored through the church’s Study Connection with Willard Shambaugh Elementary School. Liz loved her family dearly and enjoyed seeing her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and great-nieces and nephews. She was a great cook and an avid sports fan who enjoyed going to games at Central Noble and watching Notre Dame. She was strong willed but loving and her family meant so much to her.
She is survived by her brother, Jack (Linda) Walker; sister, Susie Walker; grandchildren, Breanna, Kayla and Dalton McAlkich; great-grandchildren, Braylin, Leyton, LeAnna, Conner, Bryson and Ava; nieces, Christina (Scott) Morgan, Shawn (Corey) Hoover and Penny (Aubra) Denison and Christina (Josh) Smith; great-nieces and nephews, Joel (Kaitlyn) Morgan, Lydia Morgan, Will, Jackson, Alea and Samuel Hoover; and two beloved dogs, Bailey and Clyde. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Henry Muller in 2019.
Visitation is 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, December 5, 2020 at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Face masks are required for attendance. Due to the current Covid Restrictions, there will be a private service for the immediate family, but it may be watched live on Facebook through DeMoney Grimes Live at 2:30 p.m. Saturday with Funeral Celebrant Sharon Brockhaus officiating. Burial will take place at South Park (Annex) Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her parents. Memorial donations may be given in memory to Central Noble Athletics.
