Elsie M. Richmond

Elsie M. Richmond, 85, of Columbia City, passed away at 3:20 p.m. Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Woodview Health Care, Fort Wayne. Born September 4, 1931 in Lancaster County, Pa., she was the daughter of Jonus P. and Fannie Mae (Fisher) Lantz.

On November 27, 1976 she married Laurel E. Richmond in Lancaster County, and would move to Whitley County, Indiana. She worked as a Dental Assistant for 18 years and retired in 1976. She was also Activity Directors Assistant for Millers Merry Manor, Columbia City from 1987-1997. She was a member of New Hope Wesleyan Church.

Survivors include her husband, Laurel E. Richmond; step-children; Charles (Lisa) Richmond, of Columbia City, Nancy (Kerry) Steele, of Huntertown, Peggy (Jim) Jones, of Ft. Wayne and Phillip (Lisa) Richmond, of Columbia City; brother, Jonus (Kay) Lantz Jr., of Pennsylvania ; sister, Ann (Louis) Peachey, of Pennsylvania; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Alvin and Sam (Annie) Lantz.

Visitation is 3-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Barry Faucett officiating. Burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Auburn.
