E. Maxine Kolb

E. Maxine Kolb, 90, of Albion, Indiana, passed away Friday, December 2, 2022 at her home. Born October 3, 1932 in Allen County, she was the daughter of John and Mildred (Lee) Wagner.

She graduated from  Elmhurst High School with Class of 1950 and earned her Associates Degree from Ivy Tech College. On September 9, 1953, Maxine married Henry Kolb, Sr. Maxine had worked for Inland Chemical, Fisher Brothers Paper and retired from Lincoln Life in 1989. She was a member of Living Water Lutheran Church in Wolf Lake, the American Legion # 0253 in North Webster and Veterans of Foreign Wars #4717 in Wolf Lake.

It was relaxing for Maxine to overlook the Big Lake and watch the water go by. She enjoyed reading, tending to her plants, and was a skilled crafter. She even owned and operated her own craft business, UNEK Plants and Crafts.

Maxine is survived by her daughters, Diana Stewart and Lisa Myers; sons, Henry "Butch" (Judy) Kolb, Jr. and Kevin Kolb; brother, David (Patricia) Wagner; 9 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Kolb, Sr. in 2019; son, Keith Kolb in 2021; and grandson, Adam Kolb in 1996.

Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm, Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral services will be 10 am Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Lynn Hanson officiating. Burial will take place at Thorn Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her husband.
