Eugene E. Pflueger, 83, of Big Lake, Columbia City, IN, passed away at 12:43 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City. He was born on January 12, 1930 in Fort Wayne, the son of Henry Oscar and Mildred Ruth (Dennis) Pflueger.
He attended school in Fort Wayne and served in United State Navy during the Korean War from 1948-1953. He was married to Carmen W. Gagnon in Panama on October 17, 1951. He worked as a mechanic for Kroger Warehouse for over 36 years.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Carmen W. Pflueger, Columbia City; daughter, Kathy Nebro, Fort Wayne; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lois Irene Finkhousen, Fort Wayne and Opal "June" (Bill) Baumert, New Haven and 1 brother, Arthur "Art" Burnard (Maggie) Pflueger, Monroeville. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughters, Rebecca Lynn Boger and Debbie Pflueger.
Memorial visitation will be from 2 to 7 pm Sunday, May 19, 2013 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Dr., Columbia City. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 20, 2013 at the funeral home. Memorial gifts can be given in Mr. Pfluegers honor to the donors choice. Please visit
