EVELYN E. NICODEMUS

Evelyn E. Evie Nicodemus, age 54, of Columbia City, IN died at 9:40 a.m. on Friday, July 6, 2007 at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN. She was born on July 21, 1952 in Wolf Lake, IN to Howard M. and Lois E. (Quinn) Kyler.

She graduated with the Class of 1970 from Carroll High School in Fort Wayne, IN. On June 12, 1971, she was united in marriage to Gene L. Nicodemus in Pierceton, IN. A lifetime Columbia City resident, she worked at Blue Bell in Columbia City during her teenage years, E-Systems in Huntington, and retired after 17 years from Raytheon Corporation as a line coordinator.

Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Gene L. Nicodemus; daughters, Leslie (Denver) Saylor,Columbia City, INand Monica (James) Wagner,Columbia City, IN a 5 month old grandson, Lucas Wagner; four brothers, Dale (Kathy) Quinn, Boise, ID, Tom Herronof Columbia City, IN, Randy (Margie) Herron, Churubusco, IN and Jerry (Teresa) Herron, Fort Wayne, IN; three sisters, Rev. Karen (Mike) Biddle,Columbia City, IN, Kathy (Chet) Baker,Fort Wayne, IN, and Mary (John) MacDonald,Boston, MA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard Kyler and Lois Herron.

Visitation is Monday, July 9, 2007 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, IN. Funeral service is Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Wray McCalester of Wolf Lake United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove (Compton) Cemetery, Columbia City, IN. Memorial bequests may be given in memory of Mrs. Nicodemus to the Columbia Township Volunteer Fire Department or the National Kidney Foundation of Indiana.
