F. MAXINE OVERHOLSER

September 13, 1929 — February 3, 2013

Frances Maxine Overholser, age 83, of Columbia City, IN passed away at 1:20 a.m. Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City.Born September 13, 1929 in Churubusco, she was the daughter of John Franklin and Zula (Hawk) Davis.

Her early years were spent in Churubusco where she graduated from Churubusco High School with the Class of 1947. Following her marriage to Kenneth Clark in 1950, she resided in Thorncreek Township Whitley County for 24 years. Sadly, their 19 year marriage ended in 1969 with Kenneth's passing.Maxine was blessed to find love again and on January 1, 1973 she married Frank Overholser who passed away in 1990. She lived in Larwill until moving to Columbia City in 2006.She was a cook at Thorncreek School and the Columbia Restaurant.Maxine, also, owned and operated a restaurant and M Bargains and Ceramic Shop in Larwill.A former member of St. Matthew's United Methodist Church and Larwill United Methodist Church, she gave of herself serving in both churches Women's organizations.

Maxine will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Diana (Duane) Smith of Columbia City, Karen (Kenneth) Cupp of South Whitley, Carol Clark and Cheryl (Jim) Rice of Columbia City, friend, Andrea (Merle) Anderson of Larwill; 3 step daughters, Sharon (Richard) Brundige of Arizona, Norma Kepler of Fort Wayne, Shirley Jeffers of Wabash, 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 7 step grandchildren. In addition to her parents, first and second husband, she was preceded in death by brothers & sister, Isaac, Keith, Ora, Juanita Richards, Warren, Arleigh, Charles, Harry, Calvin, Howard, Arthur, Joseph, Robert Davis. and one grandson, Wesley L. Smith.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Burial will follow at the Blue River Community Cemetery. Memorials may be given in memory of Mrs. Overholser to the donor's choice of charity.Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
