GARNER E. MURPHY

Garner E. Murphy, age 80, of Columbia City, IN passed away at 7:42 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Miller's Merry Manor, Columbia City, IN. Born on September 9, 1928 in Kosciusko County, IN, he was the son of Curtis and Mable (Rhodes) Murphy.He lived in Cromwell, IN then moved to Columbia City, IN in 1994. He attended Washington Township School, Noble County, IN. On November 5, 1949, he married Dorothy M. Mosher in South Whitley, IN. He worked at Dalton Foundry, Warsaw, IN for 2 years and the Feed Mill, Syracuse, IN for 20 plus years. He was a former member of South Whitley Church of God.Survivors include his wife, Dorothy M. Murphy of Columbia City, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents.At the request of Mr. Murphy there will be a private family visitation with burial following at Sparta Cemetery, Kimmell, IN. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, IN.
