Gary D. Cody

Gary D. Cody, age 71, of Columbia City, IN, passed away at 9:25 am on Wednesday April 24, 2024, at his residence.  Born on March 3, 1953, in Hazard, KY, he was the son of Joe and Cleda (Campbell) Cody.

Gary attended schools in Kentucky and Columbia City.  He then proudly served his country in the United States Army.  Gary worked as a Maintenance Supervisor, first at Precision Plastics, Columbia City and then at Bosch Manufacturing, Albion, until his retirement in 2015.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and driving in his free time.

Survivors include his children Robert J. (Crystal) Cody, Kaylena Cody, and Jason Cody, all of Columbia City, and Michelle (Toby) Thomas of Pierceton; grandchildren Mataya “Tater Bug” (Parker Stouder) Cody, Austin “Bub” Cody, Kourtny “Pookie” Cody, Kyndrah “Peachie Pie/Weirdo” Cody, Kingson “Bubby Guppy” Cody, Easton Neely, Amiya Neely, James Myers, and Kristopher Thomas; great-grandchildren Autumn Myers and Brynleigh Stouder; siblings Pam (Mike) Beasley of Columbia City and Larry Cody of Sidney.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother and friend Kim Hearld.

A memorial service for Gary will be held at a later date.
