Georgia May Ruf, age 75, of Columbia City, IN, passed away at 9:18 am on Saturday February 4, 2023, at Stillwater Hospice, Fort Wayne. Born on February 22, 1947, in South Gate, California, she was the daughter of Carlie and Ruth (Wilkins) Marsh.
Georgia attended Norwalk High School in California, before moving to Kansas City, Kansas in 1968, then to Whitley County in 1984. Georgia worked in the Electronics Department at Walmart, Columbia City from 1989 until her retirement in 2006.
She enjoyed sewing, cross-stitching, reading Danielle Steele novels, watching old westerns, soap operas, and Christmas movies on television, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Georgia was also a traveling enthusiast throughout the west and midwest, including a trip to the Grand Canyon, Utah, and California after her retirement.
Survivors include her children Sharron (Dave) Wilkins of Fort Wayne, Patrick Braden of Columbia City, Jeffrey (Helen) Braden of Fort Wayne, and Anthony (Tara) Braden of Avilla; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; siblings Doris Parks of Appling, GA, Carla Pratt of Chino Hills, CA, and Nelson (Claudette) Marsh of Gardnerville, NV.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald Ruf, and son William Braden, Jr.
Funeral services for Georgia will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday February 10, 2023, at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, with visitation from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm.
Memorial contributions in memory of Georgia may be made to Stillwater Hospice or to the donor’s choice of charity.
