Gerald Jay R. Imbody, age 49, of Payne, OH passed away at 2:45 p.m. on Friday, September 10, 2010 at the home of his mother. Born on May 7, 1961 in Fort Wayne, IN, he was the son of Gerald and Gloria (Juillerat) Imbody.
He was born and raised in Indiana, and recently moved to Payne, Ohio after his marriage. He married Kathy Canfield on February 13, 2010 inOhio. He was an auto body and paint technician, former owner/operator of Cycle City in Fort Wayne and most recently worked for Kinipscher Auto Body. In addition, he was a long time employee of Comcast in Columbia City. He also attended Brown Mackie College where he was studying to be a surgical technician. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge, New Haven and an avid motorcycle rider.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Imbody of Payne, OH; mother, Gloria Archbold of Spencerville, Ind.; son, Steven (Heidi) Imbody of Columbia City; daughter, Jessica Lamb of Fort Wayne, Ind.; brother, Mark Imbody of Grabill, Ind.; Steven's mother, Cynthia Imbody of Columbia City; sister, Gina High of Spencerville, Ind.; step-children, Rich, Tiffany, Ryan and Brad; and 9 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Imbody; grandparents, Ernest and Mary Julliret.
A service of remembrance will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, IN. Burial will follow at South Park (Annex) Cemetery, Columbia City, Ind. Memorials may be given in memory of Mr. Imbody to the family c/o DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home to help with final expenses. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
