Gerald Pensinger

Gerald L. Pensinger, 90, of Albion, passed away Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Ashton Creek Health & Rehab. Born August 5, 1930 in Portland, Indiana, he was the son of Dale and Mary (Nixson) Pensinger.

When he was 6, Gerald's family moved to Bear Lake in Noble County from Jay County and he would remain there for the rest of his life. It was there where he would meet a girl who would become his future wife, Anita J. Leaman. Gerald worked for Newman Foundry for over 40 years. After retirement, Gerald started woodworking. He built rocking horses to donate to Shriners Hospitals for Children, his family and also to children around the lake. Each year Gerald and Anita would go fishing on Lake Erie for walleye. Being an avid motorcycle rider, Gerald and Anita both had their own motorcycles and rode with friends from Old Fort Motorcycle Club. When they went on longer road trips though, they rode together on one bike. They truly enjoyed life.

Gerald is survived by his loving wife, Anita Pensinger; son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Robert and Doris Yenna; daughter and son-in-law Linda and Bill Wagler; brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Mary Jane Pensinger; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sons, Thomas Pensinger, Richard "Dick" Hatton and James "Jim" Yenna; brother, Bill Pensinger; and twin brothers, John and James Pensinger.

Visitation will be 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City with his funeral service at 6 p.m. Face masks are required for attendance.
