Gladys Clem, 92, of Columbia City, Ind., passed away at 11:25 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Miller's at Oak Pointe. Born November 26, 1925 in Jackson, Ky., she was the daughter of Courtney and Mary B. (Allen) Parks.
She has been a resident of Whitley County since 1942. On January 4, 1946 she married Ova Clem in Collins. She worked at Farnsworth in Fort Wayne during WWII, Viking Corporation in Columbia City for 10 years, Egolf's IGA grocery store, Churubusco for 10 years and at the Columbia City Walmart from 1998 and retired in 2015. She had attended Cornerstone Wesleyan Church and Pentecostal Church of God, Columbia City.
Survivors include her children, Barbara (DeWayne) Lane, of Columbia City, Kenneth (Portia) Clem, of Columbia City, Judy (Jim) Anderson, of Fort Wayne and Cecil (Donna) Clem, of Warsaw; four sisters; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Larry Clem; and daughter, Nancy Clem; one brother; and four sisters.
Visitation is 11-12:45 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral services begin at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at South Park (Annex) Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be given in her memory to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana or Heartland Hospice. Visit
