GRANVILLE J. WHITTAMORE

December 26, 1954 — May 30, 2011

Granville J. Whittamore, 56, of Albion (Big Lake), Ind. passed away on Monday, May 30, 2011 peacefully at home surrounded by those he loved. Granville was born December 26, 1954 in Batesville, Ind. He graduated from Brookville High School with the Class of 1973. Granville Pearl Whittamore is his father and Granville J. is in heaven with his mother Mary Marcum.

Granville married June A. Stockhausen on September 11, 1999 in Huntington, Ind.

Survivors include his wife, June Whittamore of Albion; three children, Lee (Kellie) Brumbaugh, Houston, Tex., Katie (Blake) Elliott, Dallas, Tex., Tyler (Krystal) Whittamore, College Corner, Ohio; grandson, Carter Whittamore; father, Granville P. Whittamore, Brookville, Ind.; sister, Sharon (Don) Smith and brother, Tom (Verne) Whittamore both of Brookville, Ind.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge #1129 in Brookville. He loved his job and his fellow workers of Sysco Foods, Indianapolis. Prior to Sysco Foods, he was an EMT in Union County. Granville was an avid bass angler and talked to God through his fishing. Granville was a true gentleman & touched the hearts of everyone he met.

A celebration of life will be held at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Dr., Columbia City on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. with visitation with the family beginning at 4:30 p.m. for all those who wish to take part in his final journey. Memorial bequests may be given in Mr. Whittamore's memory to Scholarship Fund to Carter Whittamore, please make checks payable to June Whittamore.
